If you and your friends wish to learn as a group, we offer fun and interactive group classes.

Absolute Beginners – A1.1

Days: Fridays

Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM (90 minutes classes)

Duration: 10 weeks (17/07 to 18/09)

Teacher: Vitória

Location: PCM Studio 1 (Level 2, 627 Chapel St, South Yarra)

Term Fee: $452

Material: PCM material is provided (Unit 1).

Course Outcomes: By the end of this unit, learners at A1.1. level will be able to introduce themselves and talk about their family using simple phrases and memorised expressions. They will be able to use basic sentence structures, personal pronouns, and high frequency verbs such as ser, estar, and ter in familiar contexts. Learners will demonstrate understanding and use of essential vocabulary related to colours, nationalities, professions, and basic personality traits, enabling them to communicate simple personal information in Portuguese.

Beginners – A1.2

Days: Thursdays

Time: 6:30pm to 8:00pm (90 minutes classes)

Duration: 10 weeks (16/07 to 17/09)

Material: PCM material is provided (Unit 2)

Course Outcomes: By the end of this unit, learners at A1.2. level will be able to talk about daily routines, time, and frequency, and describe familiar places using simple connected sentences. They will be able to use vocabulary related to food, drinks, and the home, and apply interrogative, possessive, and demonstrative pronouns with increasing accuracy. Learners will also demonstrate control of noun–adjective agreement and use the verb ter in its existential sense to communicate everyday needs and descriptions more naturally.

Pre-Elementary – A2.1

Days: Wednesdays

Time: 6:30pm to 8:00pm (90 minutes classes)

Duration: 10 weeks (15/07 to 16/09)

Location: PCM Studio 1 (Level 2, 627 Chapel St, South Yarra)

Material: PCM material is provided (Unit 3)

Course Outcomes: By the end of this course, students will be able to talk about past and future events, express preferences and needs, and describe locations and directions. They will learn key vocabulary related to parties, invitations, transportation, and life stages, as well as important verb tenses like pretérito perfeito, pretérito imperfeito, and futuro. This will help them communicate more effectively about experiences, routines, and plans in Portuguese.

Advanced Course – C1

Days: Saturdays

Time: 9:30ato 11:00am (90 minutes classes)

Duration: 10 weeks (18/07 to 19/09)

Location: PCM Studio 1 (Level 2, 627 Chapel St, South Yarra)

Material: PCM material is provided.

Course Outcomes: By the end of this unit, learners at C1 level will be able to understand and use the personal infinitive, including its simple and compound forms. They will be able to use a range of compound verb tenses (Indicative and Subjunctive) to refer to past, future, and hypothetical events with greater temporal precision. Learners will expand their vocabulary related to business, work, and professional contexts, and will be able to discuss career choices, professional experiences, and personal goals using connected discourse. They will demonstrate the ability to read and interpret tables and graphs, describing trends, comparisons, quantities, and changes using appropriate language. Through guided reading and writing tasks, learners will also develop their ability to understand argumentative and informational texts and to produce short persuasive and reflective texts in Portuguese.

CLASS DETAILS

The classes follow a well established learning program.  Initially, we identify if your learning is for travel or long term.  For travel learning, the course is based on a quick base for you to be able to communicate while traveling.  In contrast, the long term learning is designed for a journey to fluency.

TRAVEL

Learn how to get through your trip to Brazil with confidence and get some basic conversational skills under your belt.

PARTNER

Learn how to speak with your partner or their family so you can communicate freely with them in Portuguese.

CHALLENGE

Keep yourself young and learn a language. Give yourself a fun challenge.

WORK OVERSEAS

Get the basics under your belt so you can work in countries such as Brazil, Portugal, East Timor or Angola.

How much do the classes cost?

The term is $452 for 10 classes.

Material is provided.

When are classes?

From 18:30 to 20:00 on Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays (depending on the class level and it may change every term).

Payment can be made by bank transfer.
