If you and your friends wish to learn as a group, we offer fun and interactive group classes.

Absolute Beginners – A1.1

Days: Wednesday

Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM (90 minutes classes)

Duration: 10 weeks (29/04 to 01/07)

Teacher: To be confirmed

Location: PCM Studio 1 (Level 2, 627 Chapel St, South Yarra)

Term Fee: $452

Material: PCM material is provided (Unit 1).

Course Outcomes: By the end of this unit, learners at A1.1. level will be able to introduce themselves and talk about their family using simple phrases and memorised expressions. They will be able to use basic sentence structures, personal pronouns, and high frequency verbs such as ser, estar, and ter in familiar contexts. Learners will demonstrate understanding and use of essential vocabulary related to colours, nationalities, professions, and basic personality traits, enabling them to communicate simple personal information in Portuguese.

Beginners – A1.2

Days: Wednesday

Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM (90 minutes classes)

Duration: 10 weeks (29/04 to 01/07)

Course Outcomes: By the end of this unit, learners at A1.2. level will be able to talk about daily routines, time, and frequency, and describe familiar places using simple connected sentences. They will be able to use vocabulary related to food, drinks, and the home, and apply interrogative, possessive, and demonstrative pronouns with increasing accuracy. Learners will also demonstrate control of noun–adjective agreement and use the verb ter in its existential sense to communicate everyday needs and descriptions more naturally.

Elementary Course – A2.2

Days: Thursdays

Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM (90 minutes classes)

Duration: 10 weeks (30/04 to 02/07)

Location: PCM Studio 1 (Level 2, 627 Chapel St, South Yarra)

Material: PCM material is provided (Unit 4)

Course Outcomes: By the end of this unit, learners at A2.2. level will be able to improve their pronunciation and intelligibility through targeted practice, including rhythm and stress awareness. They will be able to use vocabulary related to the human body and animals in familiar contexts. Learners will demonstrate understanding and use of the gerund, continuous forms, conjunctions, the imperative, and the present subjunctive to express actions in progress, give basic commands, and produce more complex sentences in spoken and written Portuguese.

Pre-Advanced Course – B2.2

Days: Fridays

Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM (90 minutes classes)

Duration: 10 weeks (01/05 to 03/07)

Location: PCM Studio 1 (Level 2, 627 Chapel St, South Yarra)

Course Outcomes: By the end of this unit, learners at B2.2. level will confidently use object and reflexive pronouns in a variety of contexts. They will apply the future subjunctive to discuss possible future scenarios and use indefinite pronouns naturally in their speech. Students will also expand their vocabulary related to health, illness, and weather forecasts, while practicing real-life communication through cultural texts and interactive speaking activities. These skills will enable them to express themselves more fluently and accurately in both spoken and written Portuguese.

Conversation Class

Days: Thursdays

Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM (90 minutes classes)

Course Outcomes: By the end of this course, learners will be able to participate more fluently and confidently in everyday conversations, using an expanded range of vocabulary and interaction strategies to initiate, maintain, and conclude exchanges, express ideas and opinions, ask for clarification, and respond appropriately in spontaneous spoken Portuguese.

CLASS DETAILS

The classes follow a well established learning program.  Initially, we identify if your learning is for travel or long term.  For travel learning, the course is based on a quick base for you to be able to communicate while traveling.  In contrast, the long term learning is designed for a journey to fluency.

TRAVEL

Learn how to get through your trip to Brazil with confidence and get some basic conversational skills under your belt.

PARTNER

Learn how to speak with your partner or their family so you can communicate freely with them in Portuguese.

CHALLENGE

Keep yourself young and learn a language. Give yourself a fun challenge.

WORK OVERSEAS

Get the basics under your belt so you can work in countries such as Brazil, Portugal, East Timor or Angola.
