Beginners Course A1

Days: Thursdays

Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM (90 minutes classes)

Duration: 10 weeks (01/02 to 04/04)

Location: PCM Studio 1 (Level 2, 627 Chapel St, South Yarra)

Term Fee: $410

Material: PCM material is provided

Course Outcomes: By the end of this unit, students will have learnt the basics of Portuguese and how to talk about themselves and family members. Students will also have learnt the Present Tense and will be able to describe likes and interests. Students will practise their speaking, reading, listening and writing skills throughout this unit.

Elementary Course A2.1

Days: Tuesdays

Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM (90 minutes classes)

Duration: 10 weeks (30/01 – 02/04) – no Class on Melbourne Cup

Course Outcomes: By the end of this unit, students will be able to describe routines, places, and appearances. Students will also learn how to order food from a restaurant. Students will practise their speaking, reading and writing skills throughout this unit.

Pre-Intermediate Course B1

Days: Saturdays

Time: 9:10 AM to 10:40 AM (90 minutes classes)

Duration: 10 weeks (03/02 – 13/04) – No class on Saturday before Easter

Location: PCM Studio 2 (Level 2, 627 Chapel St, South Yarra)

Intermediate Course B2.1

Time: 10:50 AM to 12:20 PM (90 minutes classes)

Duration: 10 weeks (03/02 – 13/04) – No class on Saturday before Easter

Course Outcomes: By the end of this unit, students will have learnt two different Past Tenses and how to describe preferences with different prepositions. Students will also learn the Future Tense and how to make plans with friends and family. Throughout this unit, students will practise their speaking, reading and writing skills.

Pre-Advanced Course B2.2

Days: Tuesdays

Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM (90 minutes classes)

Duration: 10 weeks (30/01 – 02/04) – no Class on Melbourne Cup

Course Outcomes: Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling. Can produce simple connected text on topics that are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes, and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

Advanced Course C2.2

Days: Thursdays

Time: 6:20 PM to 7:50 PM (90 minutes classes)

Duration: 10 weeks (01/02 to 04/04)

Course Outcomes: By the end of this C2.1 students will start to achieve a mastery of the Portuguese language, enabling them to confidently communicate, comprehend, and interact in both written and spoken Portuguese at an advanced and near-native level.

CLASS DETAILS

The classes follow a well established learning program.  Initially, we identify if your learning is for travel or long term.  For travel learning, the course is based on a quick base for you to be able to communicate while traveling.  In contrast, the long term learning is designed for a journey to fluency.

TRAVEL

Learn how to get through your trip to Brazil with confidence and get some basic conversational skills under your belt.

PARTNER

Learn how to speak with your partner or their family so you can communicate freely with them in Portuguese.

CHALLENGE

Keep yourself young and learn a language. Give yourself a fun challenge.

WORK OVERSEAS

Get the basics under your belt so you can work in countries such as Brazil, Portugal, East Timor or Angola.
